Food and Distribution

Innodis Ltd

Innodis Ltd, a member of the ALTIMA GROUP of companies, was founded in 1973, and is now one of the largest food and non-food wholesale distributors in Mauritius. It currently services over 5,700 clients. In 1995, Innodis became listed on the Stock Exchange of Mauritius and reckons more than 4,000 shareholders. It produces some 13,000 tons of chicken annually, as well as ice-cream, yoghurt, flavoured milk, and desserts.

It is actively pursuing a strategy to diversify further into manufacturing, and has implemented a poultry-rearing project in Mozambique. Innodis is also engaged in retailing, with several cash & carry outlets under the name of SUPERCASH.

Innodis has created and developed a number of its own brands such as Prodigal, Le Poulet Fermier and Carmen (poultry), DairyMaid (ice cream), DairyVale and Olé (yoghurt and flavoured milk), Twin Cows (milk), Rimilda (rice), Premier (beef and mutton) and Marina (sea-foods), which have become household names in Mauritius.

The company has crafted business relationships and distribution and supply agreements with a number of world-class companies, including Nestlé, Lactalis, Kimberly-Clark, Unilever, Barilla, Fromageries Bel (France).

Innodis also owns a SAVEUR PLUS™ franchise, which fits into the integration strategy of Innodis to move closer to its customers and at the same time to strengthen its position in chilled chicken and other products like ready-to-cook fresh fish, packed frozen meats and seafood.
